Hey supporters, leave our refs alone!

I FELT I had to write in response to a number of recent letters and emails on Fans’ Forum concerning match officials.
A lot of the grief that officials get from players, managers and supporters alike comes, I feel, from frustration that results aren’t going their way.
I would have a lot more respect for people that came out after a game and admitted that they were beaten by the better side or that their players were substandard on the day.
