LUKE’S ALPORT U-TURN

LUKE Goddard is back in charge of Whitchurch Alport - just six months after moving upstairs as interim chairman.
Goddard, 29, spent three seasons in charge of the North West Counties Premier side before handing over the reins to former FC Oswestry boss Matt Burton in December, only for his successor to quit after just 125 days following a run of poor results.
Alport received more than 30 applications for the vacancy, but new chairman Tony Rogers said: “Once Luke initiated discussions for returning to the role, he became the clear favourite.
