SCOTT RUSCOE knew The New Saints weren’t going to get an easy ride at Cardiff Met and so it proved as they ground out a 1-0 win to move six points clear at the top of the JD Cymru Premier. There was an early shock for the leaders when Elliot Evans hit the woodwork and the first half was a tense and tight affair. In the end, the winner came in the 55th minute when Liam Black conceded an own goal.
