GATESHEAD took full advantage of two basic Chester errors to garner all three points in a match which rarely rose above the ordinary.
City shot-stopper Louis Gray appeared to be at fault for Jordan Preston’s opener in the 12th minute.
Then a howler from veteran defender Simon Grand led to a late winner for substitute Macaulay Langstaff after Chester had levelled on 52 minutes.
