Newark: Highway misson will not be foiled

Newark chairman Gary Clarke said the plans did not involve houses going on the football club’s site but that “it could affect us in terms of access to the land the club sits on” and “the provision of utilities”.

AMBITIOUS Newark continue to cling on to hope of a new lease for its Lowfields base despite a notice to quit having less than six weeks to run.
Landowner and developer Charles Collier gave the Midland Football League Premier Division outfit until May 15 in the notice served in November 2020.
The ground is part of a wider sporting facility, which also features bowling greens, on a much bigger plot of land that used to be a manufacturing site.
