Gary McCann hails a lucky 13 back at Hampton and Richmond Borough

RETURNING: Dean Inman

Borough are celebrating their centenary year in style – starting with a video fanfare to welcome back the squad.

Via a series of video interviews staged on the Beveree pitch, the Beavers have introduced the 13 squad members who have followed in the footsteps of manager Gary McCann and agreed to form part of the squad in next season.

First up was defender Ruaridh Donaldson, who signed up for a third season, and he was closely followed by former Academy graduate Imran Uche, who returned to the club last season.

Next was experienced forward Niko Muir, the former and striker, and then cultured left-footer Kieran Farrell, looking to finally complete his first full season in the red and blue.

Similarly, experienced midfielder Jake Gray is back for a third year, while goalkeeper Alan Julian, who joined the club last season after spells at and Billericay, also returns.

Understudy Myles Bowman is back to continue his development, as is young striker Nathan Minihas, who missed much of last year with injuries but is keen to reward the staff and players, who stuck by him.

Captain Luke Ruddick is a popular returnee, as is the club's longest-serving player Tyrell Miller-Rodney, back for a third season after joining from Staines in July 2018.

Cole Brown missed his turn in front of the mic due to illness but he is back for another year, joining Sam Deadfield, who has agreed terms with boss McCann after initially signing up for next season in December.

Completing the list is popular centre-back Dean Inman, but you get the feeling that McCann, who penned a three-year deal himself last week, is not finished just yet.
