Erith & Belvedere go for joint-bosses

The pair, chosen out of 40 applicants for the posts, replace Del Oldfield, who stood down for personal reasons after two years.

FORMER QPR player Danny Murphy and captain and player-coach Marlon Patterson have been named joint managers of the Southern Counties East Premier outfit.

The pair, chosen out of 40 applicants for the posts, replace Del Oldfield, who stood down for personal reasons after two years.

Murphy, an Irish Under-17 international, won League of Ireland medals with Cork City and Shamrock Rovers, and also played for Swindon Town, Motherwell, Dunfermline, and .

Patterson played for , , and .

A Deres statement said: “Danny is an exceptional coach and Marlon just making the transition from playing to coaching, a development which the club will support.

“Both have great ideas on how to move the club forward and start challenging for honours again, which is a glowing testament to both.”
