Almondsbury stalwart steps down

LONGSERVING NEIL Bailey has quit as manager of Toolstation Western One outfit Almondsbury.

Bailey, who made more than 520 first team appearances for the Almonds over 17 seasons, and had been in charge for four years, cited work and family commitments.

“The club is in a better place and I am very proud of my involvement in that,” said Bailey, who thanked his assistants, former Bristol Rovers player Jeff Meacham and Almondsbury player Danny Lane, for their support.

Chairman Mike Blessing is inviting applications for the vacancy by June 21.
