■ DANIEL OGUNLEYE’S first senior goal for Brentwood secured a win over Spartan South Midlands outfit Leighton.
The home side had the better chances in the first half, with Rob Harvey shooting over the bar and Ogunleye’s header grazing the crossbar from George Craddock’s corner, before he got clear in the 35th minute and beat Ollie Leslie in the visitors’ goal with a cool finish inside the post.
Leighton threatened to get back in the game early in the second half and went close with efforts from Danny Webb and Tom Silford.
