IT didn’t feel like it at the time but, looking back, Gary Flinn pretty much revealed his future plans to leave Newport Pagnell Town when addressing the press at the end of an arduous FA Vase final defeat.
Exactly 364 days previous, Flinn had sat perched in the same Wembley press conference seat with a much broader smile on his face following his side’s 3-0 final victory over Littlehampton Town.
But history wasn’t to repeat itself as the Swans boss fell just short of becoming the first club since Whitley Bay in 2010-11 to retain the trophy.
