HORSHAM won by the odd goal in three in a controversial finale.
Cheshunt were happy to sit back and let the Hornets play in their own half, then press as they advanced with space behind them.
Horsham relied on Montel Agyemang, Reece Myles-Meekums and Lucas Rodrigues to break up any Cheshunt advances in midfield.
The opener came when debutant Jack Turner created panic at the visitors’ near-post as his defensive partner Darion Furlong launched a long throw in his direction.
