■REDCAR Athletic will be officially crowned Ebac Northern League champions next Saturday after a 24th minute Cameron Gascoigne own goal saw them beat Blyth Town 1-0in front of a jubilant 740-strong crowd.
Redcar are three points ahead of Shildon with a +30-goal difference, with the latter 3-0winners over Birtley Town, Adam Lennox with a brace.
Dan Lanning and Michael Ndewini goals early in each half followed by Paul Van Vanduliet’s header saw Newcastle Blue Star claim a play-off spot with a 3-0win over Crook Town.
