■ NEWQUAY AFC stormed to the Premier West championship with a 5-0trouncing of visiting Wendron United in their final league game on Thursday night and the biggest match in the Peppermints’ history.
A Louis Price hat-trick, followed by goals from subs Callam Mconie and Alex Cole, brought the title home to the Mount Wise Stadium and secured the club’s first promotion to the Western League. The attendance of 1854, including more than 300 from the Easter Ground-hop, set a new league record.
