AVELEY were left regretted missed chances after St Albans City equalised late on with their first shot on target.
Saints controlled possession in the first half but failed to capitalise, with Aveley’s defence effectively handling crosses into the box.
Aveley had more opportunities. Suley Zuhdu’s acrobatic shot curled wide and George Saunders forced a smart save from Saints keeper Magnus Norman. Just before half-time, Saunders’ effort beat the keeper but missed the right-hand post.
