CORNISH grass-roots side St Neot AFC fell victims of a baa-rmy cancellation of their first game back at their new ground – a flock of 200 SHEEP on the pitch!
After a four-year struggle to find a home venue, the Step 11 club were stunned to find the flock had broken through a fence at the ground in the neighbouring village of Mount and covered the pitch in dung.
The huge piles of poo littered across the playing surface were deemed to be a health hazard to players, forcing the game against Looe Town 2nds in the St Pirans League Division Four East last Saturday to be called off. ...
