Former Lye Town boss Mark Jones has joined Duane Darby’s touchline team at Redditch United as his new number two.
Jones, who was also a first team coach at Southern League rivals Stourbridge, was unveiled as the new assistant manager at The Trico Stadium on Wednesday.
Jones was brought in as the Reds ramp up preparations for the possibility of an August start to the 2021/22 Southern League Premier Division Central season.
According to a club statement, fans should also look out for new club membership options and a revamped junior football offer in the coming days.

Former Cradley and Bromsgrove Rovers boss Darby told the club’s website: “We are taking advantage of the additional downtime this summer and making sure that the club will be in a much better position next year.
“Mark is someone with a great knowledge of non-league and will open up additional options for recruitment, as well as be a great support for Redditch United. He’ll be in invaluable asset as we push on in the next campaign.”
The Reds appointed ex-Football League star and Conference winner Darby as their new manager and successor to Ian King in November 2019.
As a player, the 46-year-old scored more than a 100 times for a host of clubs including Hull City, Doncaster Rovers and Notts County. He won promotion to the EFL from Non-League with Rushden & Diamonds before going on to play for Hednesford Town, Alvechurch and Nuneaton Borough.
