Salford City bring in Adam Rooney

Big spending Salford City have brought out the cheque book again to sign striker Adam Rooney from SPL side Aberdeen.
The 30-year-old front man has enjoyed a prolific run of form during his five seasons with The Dons, netting 66 times in 148 matches.
Rooney began his career with Irish side Crumlin United, before securing a move to Stoke City in 2005.
However, the striker saw his first team opportunities limited at the Britannia Stadium and moved on to Scottish side Inverness Caladonian Thistle, where he went on to score 44 goals in 103 matches.
Rooney then enjoyed brief spells with the likes of Birmingham City, Swindon Town and Oldham Athletic before he joined Aberdeen in January 2015.
Speaking to his club's official website, Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes praised his departing striker.
“We wish Adam all the very best with his new venture and it is always with a heavy heart when you lose a good player who is also a really good person,” said the Dons' boss.
He continued, “Since I signed Adam four and a half years ago, he has given us nothing but good value and has been a fantastic boy to work with.”
