Trinidad and Tobago FA won’t allow manager Dennis Lawrence to speak to Wrexham

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association say it has no intention of allowing manager Dennis Lawrence to enter discussions with Wrexham regarding their vacant managerial post.

Lawrence, the former Wrexham and Swansea defender, is the bookies’ favourite to replace Sam Ricketts, who left the club on Sunday to become Shrewsbury Town’s new manager.
Lawrence has been managing Trinidad and Tobago since 2017 after earning 89 caps for his country.
He made 198 appearances for the Dragons in a five year spell between 2001-2006, but his chances of a return have been hindered by his international bosses.
A statement from the TTFA read: “The TTFA wishes to state that it has no intentions of allowing its current employee, Mr Lawrence, to engage in discussions with the club regarding the possibilities of a move and a subsequent step down from his position as Head Coach of the Men’s Senior National Team.
“The FA has engaged in discussions with Mr Lawrence on this matter and is pleased to have his understanding and cooperation.”
Graham Barrow is in temporary charge while the Wrexham hierarchy have stated their intention of appointing Ricketts’ successor as soon as possible.
