The Hartlepool Mail are reporting that Pools are likely to renew their interest in signing defender Jon Mellish over the close season.
They have stated that current boss Craig Hignett made a desperate attempt to bring Mellish to Victoria Park before the closure of the most recent transfer window but a deal was unable to be reached.

The defender has been a key figure in the Heed’s push for a play-off position this season, making over 40 appearances for the financial stricken club.
The current off field issues at the International Stadium have led to the recent departure of key players such as Scott Boden, with more likely to follow if the situation persists into the summer.
