Players hold crisis meeting with Notts County chief

Players hold

The Nottingham Post are reporting that Notts County players met with owner Alan Hardy last week in a desperate attempt to get answers on the club’s future.
The meeting came after all staff at Meadow Lane went without pay last Friday, while the club’s protracted takeover saga continues to drag on, with a Danish consortium now appearing to emerge as front runners to take over the Magpies.
Frustrations have been raised to unprecedented levels among the Notts County fanbase this summer as an elusive sale is still yet to be completed, despite the club having been on the market since January.
This anger at the club’s hierarchy spilled over into protests on Saturday as supporters gathered at Meadow Lane in a search for answers.
Notts County are due to face a winding up order on 10th July due to an unpaid tax bill believed to be in the region of around £250,000.
Last week, Hardy attempted to reassure fans by expressing his belief that a takeover will be completed before County’s day in court.
Meanwhile, the club’s off field issues continue to blight their preparations for the new National League season, with a transfer embargo preventing Neil Ardley from making any summer transfers as of yet.
