Chesterfield’s loan star Gevaro is backing Spireites to carry on winning

Chesterfield's loan star Gevaro Nepomuceno is backing his teammates to carry on winning after scoring his first goal for the Spireites in Saturday night's 1-0 win against Notts County.
The Oldham Athletic winger's first-half volley in front of the BT Sport cameras secured a fourth win in their last five league outings as Chesterfield continued their steady climb up the National League table.
A  derby day crowd of 5,432 at the Proact Stadium saw the 26-year-old Curaçaoan international net his first goal since arriving from League One last month, pictured.
Nepomuceno, who kicked off his career art  FC Den Bosch in the Netherlands, expressed his delight with the goal and victory in an interview after the televised late kick-off.
“I think a few weeks ago I said that I have a lot of confidence in the team and that we were going to get out of the time we were losing. Now we are getting out of it and winning games,” told Chesterfield's fans via their website.
“It's amazing to score my first goal and it's three wins in a row now so it's good. It's a good way to keep going forward. It feels good. You want to win every game so if you can win against a rival its amazing. It's a good weekend.
“I feel like every game I can do something and bring more for the team. I'm a winger, I'm an attacking player. I will help the team with whatever I can do. If I need to defend, I will defend for the team. If I can cross, I will cross. If I need to make a goal, I will try to do it.”
Nepomuceno is also looking forward to building on his growing partnership with Jay Sheridan down the left-hand side for the Spireites.
Hailing the chemistry that is building between them, he added:  “We have a connection because we have played with each other before. It's getting better and better and we know what we want from each other.”

Former Notts County boss John Sheridan was backed by the Chesterfield board to turn around the club's season in early September despite his side propping up the National League table at the time.
Appointed by the Spireites on a three year deal as the successor to Martin Allen in January 2019, the ex-Sheffield Wednesday star had been coming under pressure from fans after a winless start to the season.
