TY BARNETT dismissed any suggestion that he was offside when he picked up a rebound to fire Eastleigh’s 38th-minute winner after a fierce volley from Tom Whelan had been turned against the post.
Barnett was lurking in the right place at the right time after Maidenhead goalkeeper Rhys Lovett flung himself to his right to palm Whelan’s shot against the right-hand upright. “I immediately turned to the referee’s assistant to check I was onside before wheeling away to celebrate,” he smiled.
