Over a tumultuous two-and-a-half hours, Aldershot Town showed heart and bravery to earn a deserved three points which left Gateshead deflated, depleted and ultimately defeated in the National League.
A medical emergency, involving a Shots supporter taking a nasty fall, saw the game suspended for 30 minutes in the first-half.
That was followed by ten added minutes at the end of the game, after Theo Widdrington was stretchered off.
