It was honours even at the VBS Community Stadium as Braintree Town earned a point against Sutton United in the National League.
Experienced striker John Akinde took advantage of some poor Sutton defending to equalise within three minutes of Josh Coley giving the home side the lead.
It was a result that delighted Braintree manager Steve Pitt, who saw his side recover from a late collapse against Wealdstone in midweek.
