CHORLEY regained their play-off slot but left Gainsborough on the brink of the drop after a high-stakes game for both sides.
The hosts’ win was utterly comprehensive as a disappointing Trinity became increasingly disjointed.
Two down early in the second half, manager Dave Frecklington gambled on a triple substitution but the move backfired as the energetic Magpies ran in two more goals to win at a canter.
Striker Jason Walker was the star of the show with a hat-trick, but the Magpies as a team proved far too strong.
