HARVEY Saunders’ double gave Darlington a vital victory over nine-man FC United at Broadhurst Park.
The league’s bottom side began brightly and took the lead after just 11 minutes as Theo Brierley grabbed his first goal for the club with a well taken effort from the edge of the box.
But the struggling FC United defence showed the lack of confidence as a complete mix-up between defenders and goalkeeper Jordan Perrin saw Saunders’ looping header somehow find its way into the back of the net.
