ALFRETON and Stockport produced a real advert for the National League North as both sides battled to a wellearned point.
Stockport started the game the better of the two and should have taken the lead when some neat work down the left side left Adam Thomas with the goal gaping, only for the Hatters man to spoon his effort over the bar.
Alfreton then took control and dominated for the 20 minutes into half-time, Richard Peniket sliding in to meet Tom Allan’s low ball at the back post, only to come up an inch short of the ball.
