CHESTER made it two wins from two games, but they were made to fight all the way by a dogged Leamington side who are still looking for their first victory of the season.
The game rarely rose above the ordinary, with both sides guilty of glaring misses in front of goal.
The visitors started well with Sam Osborne and Danny Waldron both going close.
Leamington took the lead after nine minutes, Junior English nipping in to score from close range after Louis Gray had hesitated in dealing with a cross.
