BOSS NEAL

TOP HONOUR: Neal Ardley with his Managers’ prize

NOTTS County’s charge to reclaim their place in the Football League is officially in full swing – and now boss Neal Ardley has been recognised for his sterling efforts.

Ardley has been rewarded for taking the Magpies back into the National League play-off places by being named the Vanarama Manager of the Month for January.

They started off by toppling title rivals Stockport County in the FA Trophy before earning a draw against leaders Torquay United and two excellent wins over Solihull Moors and We y m o u t h without conceding.

Yeovil Town m i d f i e l d e r Albi Skendi earned the player award after inspiring the Glovers to a wonderful late victory over south-west rivals Torquay before getting on the scoresheet in a victory over old foes Weymouth.

The Vanarama Volunteer of the Month award for January goes to Wrexham’s Community Lead Stephen Lloyd.

Meanwhile, Leamington boss Paul Holleran has been rewarded for a ground- breaking month of January by being named Vanarama National League North Manager of the Month.

The Brakes started the new year by keeping leaders Gloucester City in check with a worthy 1-1 draw, before securing a 2-1 win at in-form Chorley to leave them outside the play-offs on goal difference before the recent break. TOP BOSSES: Paul Holleran, top, and Robbie Simpson

Chester’s George Glendon is the Player of the Month, inspiring the Blues to home wins over Guiseley and AFC Telford United and would have made it a clean sweep but for Bradford Park Avenue’s thrilling comeback in a 3-3 draw.

Husband and wife dream team of Philip and Denise Stevens deservedly picked up the Volunteer award for their hard work at Brackley Town.

Chelmsford City scooped two of the three awards in National League South.

Boss Robbie Simpson clinched the Manager of the Month award while long – time supporter and Safety Officer David Everard was named top Volunteer.

Simpson continued Chelmsford’s vast improvement this season with a thumping win over rivals Braintree Town and a 2-0 victory at title-chasing St Albans City before rallying from 3-0 down to snatch a point at rivals Billericay Town.

The Player of the Month gong goes to Oxford City goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski.

Three away wins inside ten days helped catapult Oxford into the top seven, as David Oldfield’s men also booked their place in the FA Trophy quarter-finals.
