SOUTHPORT soldiered to victory in wet and windy conditions as goals from Jordan Archer and Connor Woods consigned Hereford to their first league defeat since October.
Hereford spurned a chance to take the lead in the eighth minute as a clearance only reached Tom Owen-Evans on the Southport penalty spot but the attacking midfielder’s shot cleared not only the bar and the stand.
