In-form Heed head for the top

GATESHEAD moved three points clear with their 16th win from 22 National League North games, their latest coming in a hard-fought encounter.
Heed weren’t at their best but had the firepower to take all three points, Jake Weaver keeping a dogged Brakes in it with a string of important saves.
Gateshead could have been ahead after 57 seconds, Paul Blackett racing on to Adam Campbell’s long ball only for Weaver to block on the edge of the box.
