THE sparkle in an otherwise untidy affair came in the opening ten minutes, by which time the scoreline could have been 3-1.
Jon Ustabasi failed to capitalise on two very presentable chances for the Magpies and Mike Calveley hit the bar after an intricate build-up by Chorley, while, at the other end, only a superb save low down by Matt Urwin prevented Jordan Thewlis from putting Alfreton in front.
