ISTHMIAN champions Bishop’s Stortford kicked off their return to Step 2 with a win over last season’s third-place finishers Chester.
Birthday boy Ryan Charles popped up with two goals in the second half to seal three points. Darren Foxley went close early on, as he stretched to reach Jack Morrell’s cross from the left, but his volley went over the bar.
