Match Preview: Boston United v Scarborough Athletic (Saturday, 3pm)

Scarborough Athletic travel to Boston United on Saturday in the National League North.

The visitors come into the game on the back of a draw in their last match, having tied with Spennymoor Town 1-1 at home.

The Pilgrims, meanwhile, lost their last match, 2-1 against Brackley Town.

With 65 goals in 43 games so far this season, Boston are scoring more than average in the league with 1.5 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 46 goals at a rate of 1.1 per game.

Scarborough, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.2 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have also conceded 1.2 goals per game.

United are ninth in the table after 43 games, of which they have won 19 and drawn 11, earning 68 points.

Athletic are four places behind the Pilgrims in 13th, with 18 wins and nine draws putting them on 63 points.

The hosts are in reasonable form in the National League North, with four wins and two losses from their last six games.

With two wins and two draws over that period, the away team’s form is worse – they have taken eight points from 18, compared to Boston’s 12.

In the last three years, Boston and Scarborough have played each other on three occasions. Scarborough won one of them and they drew the other.

Their last meeting was on January 16, when Scarborough won 3-2 at home.
