MARINE recorded their first win of the season in front of home fans, inflicting further pressure on fellow promoted side Radcliffe.
Both sides struggled in the first half hour with Radcliffe having the better chances.
On two separate occasions, young defender Tom Atcheson was in the right place, clearing chances from Brad Roscoe and former Mariner, Josh Wardle. The latter’s name was regularly taunted by the 1,400 in attendance throughout the game for his unexpected departure.
