SOUTHPORT led Peterborough before seeing the game abandoned due to weather conditons.
A waterlogged pitch stopped play late into the second half ended play as now the wait is for a replay to be determined.
A lightning start from the Sandgrounders saw an instant opening in behind with Arthur Gnahoua playing across the box, through the legs of Mo Touray and eventually to Jordan Slew with the forward notching his first league goal of the season.
