CENTRE-BACK Toby Lees’ 31st-minute header proved to be enough to settle a dour encounter at Bridlington.
A heavy pitch was not conducive to open play but the visitors were well worth their half-time lead after Lees got free to head in Will McGowan’s corner.
Livewire Cedric Main twice tested home goalkeeper Ryan Whitley and also hit a post, while Boro old boy Aidan Rutledge flicked a header narrowly wide.
