Gloucester City part company with Chris Todd by mutual consent

Chris Todd admitted his Gloucester City side were in grave danger of being relegated from National League South – 48 hours later, he was gone!
The former Torquay United defender and Eastleigh boss pulled no punches after the 3-1 defeat to bottom club Weston-Super-Mare on New Year's Day, admitting the Tigers were not good enough and could go down.
The 37-year-old Welshman followed that up by insisting he was the man to help turn around the club's fortunes but by Thursday morning his departure was announced, just three months after being installed.
Tuesday's defeat stretched the Tigers' winless run to 14 in all competitions, leaving Todd to make the following statement: “To all Gloucester City fans, yesterday was a massive low for everyone involved with the football club. There is no one hurting more this morning than myself, I can promise you that.
“After such a positive first-half performance, the second half was a huge letdown and disappointment. As the manager of the football club, I take full responsibility and do not accept that second half's display.
“What yesterday did do is prove we are in a relegation scrap and realisation that we are not good enough at the present time and could go down. This has not been right all season and cracks have been papered over.
“I am however very capable of turning this situation around. I will do everything in my power to make this happen. There is a plan in place and things will happen in the next few days. We as a club can only do this together and need everyone pulling in the right direction.”
Tom Webb and Mike Green have been put in caretaker charge while a permanent successor is found.
