Billericay Town have made a real statement of intent ahead of the upcoming National League South season by signing experienced defender and former Stevenage captain Ronnie Henry.
Henry began his career in the youth ranks at Tottenham Hotspur but was released by the North London club at the age of seventeen.
Following his departure from White Hart Lane, the center back enjoyed a brief spell with Irish side Dublin City before moving to Stevenage in January 2005.
During his initial seven year spell with The Boro, Henry won promotion from both the Conference and League Two, as well as twice lifting the FA Trophy.
A two year spell with Luton Town saw the 35-year-old defender once again win promotion to the EFL before he returned to Stevenage in 2014, eventually becoming the club's record appearance maker.
Speaking to Billericay's official club website, manager Harry Wheeler said, .”Ronnie is a Stevenage legend amongst other big clubs he has been at, he is a leader, a great club man, he will be a great addition with his vast league experience, he knows how to control games from the back and it's taken a while but i'm delighted to say he is now a Billericay Town player.”
