East Thurrock opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Reece Harris crossed first time to find Tom Wraight alone at the back post to tap home.
Rocks keeper Lukas Lidakevicius performed a spectacular save to tip Frankie Sutherland’s shot wide as the visitors looked for a reply.
