Hemel Hempstead Town have appointed Bradley Quinton new manager as part of a management shake-up and the exit of Mark Jones.
Quinton, who previously got Braintree Town promoted to the National League in his first season in charge following their relegation the season prior, will be looking for more success as he attempts to push the Tudors up the table.
He had success at Enfield Town where he reached three play-offs and led them on the club’s best FA Cup run. Quinton, who won captained Braintree to promotion to Non-League‘s top flight as a player, also had a spell at the helm of Welling United.
As part of the changes, his arrival sees the departure of Jones with immediate effect following a meeting between the former Oxford City boss and club chairman Dave Boggins where it was mutually agreed Jones would step down from his role.
Hemel have struggled in recent weeks and sit 16th in the National League South with just seven wins from their opening 24 league games as they surpass the half-way point of their season.
Jones took to Twitter to give a goodbye message to the fans: “I’m sad to say my time at Hemel Hempstead FC has come to an end.
“I’d like to thank Dave Boggins for giving me the opportunity to return to management in September 2021. I have enjoyed my time at the club and would like to thank the players, staff and all of the many employees and volunteers that work behind the scenes at the club.
“This season we wanted to kick on and be competing in and around those play-off positions. Unfortunately, this hasn’t happened and although we are by no means cast adrift in the relegation places, we are disappointed to be in 15th position as the season reaches the half-way stage.
“I was confident that with one or two tweaks, we could start to win more consistently and climb the table, but with the chairman hungry for success, it was decided that a change was necessary.
“A big thank you to my brother Daniel who is a loyal assistant and lastly thank you to the fantastic supporters who have always given me great backing, right from the beginning till the end.
“I hope to be back in football as soon as an opportunity arises. Best regards, Jonah.”
