WORTHING’S 100% league record ended after goals from Jon Benton and Eduino Vaz saw Aveley win at Woodside Road.
The hosts controlled possession as expected, but the visitors work rate helped to restrict Worthing to very little in the first half of note in the early stages.
On 18 minutes the game burst into life, Jon Nzengo and Kenny Aileru combined on the right with the former finding Benton to put Aveley ahead.
Joe Felix and Nicky Wheeler were asking questions of Aveley but they were limited to pot shots.
