MAIDENHEAD UNITED’S return to the National League South began poorly as they slipped to home defeat against Chesham.
After relegation last season, the Magpies entered the new campaign with high hopes, but they were undone by a well-organised and confident Chesham side who claimed an impressive opening-day victory.
The Generals started well and took the lead after 25 minutes with a well-worked team move.
