David Noble back at St Albans

David Noble

David Noble has returned to the National League South outfit as Head Coach, four months after departing for Wealdstone.

Noble was given his first role in management by St Albans City in September 2022, having been a player at the club for the past six years. An interim role was made permanent two months later, and he led the Saints to the 2023 Promotion Final where they lost to Oxford City. The former Arsenal man departed in January 2024 for Wealdstone but was sacked after just 73 days, ending with a run of one point from six games.

Jon Meakes will remain at the club as part of the management staff. He had overseen the final three months as manager following Noble’s resignation.

St Albans finished 11th in National League South last season, five points outside the play-off places.
