■ A GAME which was short of any real goalmouth action saw visitors Hullbridge Sports pick up their first point of the season after a resolute defensive performance.
Long-range shots from Aveley duo Shad Ngandu and Manny Ogunrinde were well saved by Luca Collins in the Hullbridge goal.
Alex Akrofi was next to go close for the home side when he had a great chance early in the second half but that was brilliantly blocked by Hullbridge centre-back Dexter Peter.
