■ GRAYS maintained their promotion push with a hard-fought victory over Hullbridge Sports, who belied their lowly league position.
Never a classic, a sixthminute strike from Joe Paxman was all that separated the two sides.
Hullbridge for all their good approach work lacked a cutting edge, which ultimately cost them.
Grays had the better chances throughout but the early goal from Paxman, coming after good work by Anointed Chukwu, was all they had to show for their effort.
