HORSHAM moved up to eighth with a fine victory over Herne Bay, sending the Kent side bottom of the table.
Despite a pedestrian opening half-hour, the visitors almost grabbed an early lead when Rory Smith wriggled through, but Harvey Sparks raced back to sweep his poked effort off the line. The deadlock was broken on 22 minutes, in the home side’s favour. Tom Richards’ free-kick crashed off the post before Tom Day rocketed the rebound into the top corner on the turn.
