■ LATE controversy saw Eastbourne come back to earn a share of the spoils.
Croydon, who have been on a poor run of form, got off to the perfect start with skipper Ghassimu Sow heading the ball home from a cross.
For the opening period of play, Croydon looked worthy of their lead and in control, but as the half drew on, Eastbourne got more into their stride. The crucial incident then took place with 20 minutes to go. An Eastbourne corner came to nothing, but an off-the-ball tussle saw Luke Dreher receive a red card and a penalty awarded.
