■ ASHFORD had the best of the opening chances, but could not convert and were punished soon after when Jacob Lambert slotted calmly home for 1-0.
On the half-hour mark the Ashford goalkeeper saw red for bringing down Rolando Onu and Lambert scored the free-kick from 20 yards out, beating the Ashford forward Gary Lockyer in goal.
Five minutes after the restart Onu had his first of the season for 3-0.
With five minutes left veteran substitute Dan Bradshaw stabbed home from close range to make it four.
