Former Norwich City and Aston Villa assistant manager Ian Culverhouse has been appointed as the new Grantham Town manager.
Having made the five-man shortlist from 17 applicants for the position, Culverhouse was offered the position after a short consultation between the six members of the panel in attendance.
His first stop on the Football League ladder was assistant manager with Barnet, before moving to Leyton Orient (during which time he came to the Meres for the 2003/04 FA Cup defeat). In 2005 he moved to Wycombe Wanderers, it was whilst at Wycombe he would link-up with Paul Lambert for the first time. In October 2008, following Lambert’s appointment at Colchester, Culverhouse followed where they spent the remainder of the 2008/09 campaign before his move back To Norwich, again as Lambert’s assistant. A spell which saw them claim back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.
Chairman Roger Booth said: “I’m delighted Ian has agreed to become our manager, we hope he can build on the momentum the club has, things are happening in all areas of the club and everyone associated with it has every right to be positive about the clubs future.
“I would like to thank all the other applicants for the position, we really did have a high calibre of managers apply for the position, which made the task for the board that little more difficult, but in Ian I feel we have made the right choice for the clubs future.”
